Quality control & assurance at TATC TATC has a well equipped
Metrology Laboratory with a staff of Quality Control Engineers and
Technicians. The Laboratory provides
its services to both internal (departments) customers and external
customers, the latter at a nominal fee according to the volume of
business. It is equipped as
below according to the field of use:- 1. Dimension
Verification The TATC Metrology
Laboratory is equipped with two Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
i.e. (One Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC), i.e. automatic and
another one manually controlled). These High Precision
CMMs are capable of measuring three dimensional geometries (in the
X, Y and Z axis). The measurement software used is the Mitutoyo
COSMOS CMM software on both machines. COSMOS stands for Controlled
Open Modular Operation Support, and it controls part and sub-program
management and file organization of the operation procedures. Capability
The laboratory has a
Profile projection capable with a protractor screen of 356mm. Used
to project a workpiece surface or contour on screen for dimensional
measurements or observation Tool makers microscope
for micro-measurements with a vertical working distance of 150mm, a
working length of 72mm and a magnification accurancy of 0.1%. Roundness testing
machine capable of evaluating roundness, peak height, valley depth,
flatness, mean roundness squareness, coaxility, concentricity and
parallelism, at a max O/D and I/D of 280mm and a table surface
diameter of 165mm. Maximum workpiece load is 25kg. Surface finish measuring
machine capable of handling up to 62 measurement parameters (26
roughness parameter and 36 waviness parameters). The built- in
plotter is capable of plotting various profiles, roughness and
waviness profiles and bearing area curves. 3. Calibration TATC Metrology
Laboratory has calibrating equipment for industrial measuring hand
tools, such as vernier calipers, micrometer screw gauges, dial
gauges, bore gauge, etc. High grade ceramic
gauge blocks (Grade O) Precision step
gauges for dimensional measurement verification of ranges 0-150,
0-300 and 0.600mm. Dial gauge
calibrators for industrial dial gauges of all capacities. Electrical Mu-checkers
(μ-checkers) for sensitive and high precision dial gauge
calibration and verification of sensitive dimensions such as
engine block bores, crankshafts and camshafts (bores and
shafts).
